Generac Generator Parts are a necessity sometime during the life of your generator. A generator is a machine, and every machine needs oil, clean filters and eventually, replacement parts. With Generac models changing almost yearly, you will want to make sure you have a consistent resource for Generac Guardian Generator Parts.

This is exactly the reason AP Electric makes it a point to stock so many parts in our warehouse. There will be the occasion you have to have a new air cleaner in 2 days, and we can get it to you. Replacing your generator's parts, or No matter the reason for replacing them, the first step in finding your generator's parts is to check your owner's manual. It is important to note the correct item number and type before continuing with your generator parts order. When searching for Generac generator parts, you will find everything you need in one stop. AP Electric carries a wide stock of Generac parts from air filters to voltage regulators and everything in between. No matter which Generac generator parts you need, as long as they are still available, we can get them for you.

You'll want to make sure that when you give us a call you have the model and serial number off of the generator itself and not off of the engine. Also, Briggs & Stratton now owns all XL and EXL portable generators. Unfortunately that means you will have to contact them directly as we no longer have access to those parts. Just to try to save you some time with a little bit of helpful information.

We get a lot of calls about those parts and we would help you if we could, but those generators are no longer owned by Generac. Guardian parts are designed specifically for the Generac Guardian generators.

Much like your car needs a tune up occasionally, it is important to keep up the maintenance of your generator. The great thing about them is that the maintenance doesn't need to be done too often. After the break in period you only need to do it every two years or two hundred hours. If you take into account the fifteen to twenty minutes of weekly exercise, assuming there are no power outages, it will be quite some time before you'll have to worry about changing the oil, spark plugs, oil filter, etc. Generac always aims to give its customers the ease and convenience that they need for keeping the generator up and running. So, most models will have a maintenance kit containing everything you need to get the job done.

If you come across a part that we don't have listed on the website then it might be what we consider a special order part. That means that the part itself has to be ordered directly from Generac. That means it also won't be returnable, which we talk about in our terms and conditions.

It also will take roughly three to five business days to ship out for most items, but, could take as long as four to six weeks for some of the larger parts. If you are unsure of which part you might need, our downloadable diagnostic manuals can help you with finding out what exactly you need.

The Generac portable and standby generators are manufactured at the Generac Power Systems, Inc. Factory in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Their reputation for reliability is second to none. One reason for this is the Generac OHVI engine.

Air-cooled generators come with engines that use fans to assist engine cooling. Liquid-cooled generators use enclosed radiator systems for cooling, similar to an automobile. Generally, liquid-cooled engines are used on larger KW generators due to the larger engines requirement for higher power output.

Most home emergency generators are equipped with engines that are manufactured primarily for lawn and garden applications. On the other hand, Generac OHVI engines are made specifically for generators. They are engineered to run for long periods of time, which is a huge asset when you are confronted with a severe power outage.

Generac OHVI engines have a significantly longer life than competitive engines – an unprecedented three to four times longer – making them the best investment on the market. In fact, they are designed to provide approximately 3,000 hours of use. Lawn mower engines have no oil level protection, which means the engine continues to run even when the oil level is low possibly causing serious damage.

The OHVI engine shuts down automatically when the oil level is or overheated oil is detected. In addition, the OHVI pressurized lubrication system works from start-up to shut-down by pumping oil directly to every critical area.

Most competitive models splash oil on moving parts thereby missing critical friction areas. Generac generators have a full pressure lubrication system to allow for the use of an automotive grade oil filter to remove dirt and carbon solids. This compares with many other engines that have no filter at all and rely only on oil changes to drain out impurities and harmful debris. Another outstanding feature is Generac’s OHVI X-TorqTM Governor, which is the fastest responding governor available.

It maximizes engine performance and virtually eliminates stalling. A slow governor can result in poor, low voltage, potentially damaging the electronics.
